Anaheim, CA

Posted on April 17, 2009

I am here in Anaheim, CA and I am thoroughly enjoying the National Catholic Educators Association (NCEA) conference. I have attended sessions on bullying and cyber-bullying, Smart Boards, school law, differentiated instruction, free Google tools, marketing and school handbooks. There are over 8000 educators here from  many different places. I have met people from the Bahamas, the Philippines and Australia as well as from many places in the United States.

On Tuesday night I took a trip with about 700 people and visited the Mission Basilica San Juan Capistrano. It was beautiful and we were able to see the ruins of the original church which were destroyed in an earthquake many years ago. To end the evening we went to the new cathedral and prayed compline and then headed back on the buses to Anaheim. Wednesday night we had passes to go to Disneyland. My favorite part was the parade down Main Street USA.  Mickey, Minnie, Goofy and all their friends were in the parade. It was fun to see them - almost made me go and buy a pair of Mickey ears!

I hope everyone had a great Easter vacation. Now we have to be ready to get back to work before summer vacation!
